OK, the track option is sounding popular. Hold tight. I'll ask around to see what bikes I might be able to access...

...and I found out tonight that I might have to go to Sydney on the Monday for team pursuit training. But I could still come down for Sat and part of Sunday.

Let's see if we can get access to the track and some track bikes before making a final call.

Given the popularity of the idea, if this doesn't come off, how about we have a track try out day for Vikings in Canberra soon? We could either do it at the Bundadome (it only looks scary! and you can ride around on the duck board at the bottom which is flat) or the Queanbeyan, which is a flat track.

Cheers

How about we do that as well? I like the idea of having a shot at other disciplines of cycling

Track bikes are great but maybe we should save them for the Canberra try out rather than trying to get all the extra bikes down there.

In the past we have selected a gear and not allowed people to change. It is usually a cog smaller for people with compact cranksets.

Agreed, and it worked a treat last year.

Also that track doesn't seem too safe to be motoring at 50km/h without brakes. The banks would be 1-2% grade? Surely not well equipped enough to wipe off speed and escape danger.

OK, let's hold the track session off for a day in Canberra. Much easier in terms of organising bikes as well.

It looks like I have to go to Sydney for training anyhoo that weekend, but will be up there riding with you all if that doesn't happen.

Cheers
